Mirrors

Got caught up in an odd feeling while looking into the mirror, couldn’t help it but to think that there is indeed another world at the back of this layer. The reflection is so real in the sense of existence, where it is an individual on its own and not just being our shadows. Perhaps it is due to the wild imagination of ours, perhaps not. Dozens of times we’ve been checking our appearances through the help of mirrors and dozens of times we are fascinated by our own reflections, not to say narcissistic but to give ourselves some sort of confidence and courage in order to face the rest of the day. We do the checking whenever we are preparing ourselves for dinner, whenever we are to meet up with friends, whenever we are to date the dearest one especially. There are even people who would strip themselves naked, to see if there’s any difference before and after. Certainly this is not a wrong thing to do, as most of us do care about our physical appearances, reputations and not forgetting the impressions towards others, despite the fact that some people deny the truth. Very often, we would see someone else’s in a person and of course, our shadows in the others as well, for that particular person reminds us of who we used to be and who the others may be in the past or future. Be it the similar situations or ways of handling problems, we are the reflections of ourselves, of others and vice versa; we are the mirrors and so are the rest of the world, with the slightest differences.
