Gift in Living

We may have experiences of living in the past of ours, of others, haunted by the worst nightmare in the darkest night, where the memories strike us in the head, recalling the bad days. Very often, people get themselves trapped in the past, refuse or perhaps, unable to pull themselves out from such bottomless pit. A wrong conception it is, that our past determines who we are. Personally, those experiences mold us, but never once it is capable of determining our personalities and nature. In other words, the past merely shows who we were but not necessary who we are. As we all know, actions define our behavior and attitude towards life and as the time goes by, we change, so are the perspectives and the actions of ours. Hence, it is our current decisions which would make the difference, determining who we are, not who we were nor who we will be. We are given the chance to define who we really are through our actions, by going through dozens of obstacles ahead of us, over and over again; we are given the chance to have a change in life, to let the past remains to be one and focus on the present; we are given the chance to free ourselves from the past and not affect our decisions. Use it wise and well.
