Surviving Desire

“With sufficient amount of food supply, only comes desire for money, fame and power,” quote taken from a friend. It’s true, very true. When question regarding the greatest weakness of mankind is asked, different answers can often be heard. The desire to survive in one can be so strong that any actions which need to be done will be taken, ignoring the fact that certain objects or even people must be sacrificed. Animals kill for the right to survive, the right to live. As part of the animal kingdom itself, we human beings too are most likely to do something similar in the current days, though we have higher intelligence, higher skills to achieve what the rest of the animals couldn’t have. Indeed, there are several ideas on the greatest weakness of all which commonly agree by most people. However, if we are to go way deeper than it is now shown, the very root of all answers mentioned, survival plays a very important role, a desire which one can never resist, unless that particular person has given up his hope to live. We fight for food, when there is food deficiency; as the world moving forward to higher demands, we fight for money; in order to earn more money, we need fame; and most of all, the power, which many believe, will be able to bring in more food, more money and more fame. Back to the origin again, we would see the desire to live, the desire to survive, coping with the pace the world now has, the greatest root of the greatest weakness of mankind.
