It was a camp within the woods, where river crossing was one of the activities being held. The lake wasn’t as clear as we usually see in the advertisements, which is understandable; there were plant like organisms, not forgetting the mud as it was shallow enough, with the water level to our waist. As usual, the boys wouldn’t mind lining up, taking their turns jumping in, whereas most of the girls would be, “Gosh, this is disgusting! It’s so dirty in there! I’m so not going in.” including the owner of this blog. Come to think of it, perhaps we should take that as one of the arts of nature, instead of naming it using our very own expressions. When we are not familiar with places, objects, or any living beings, not knowing the what, how and why, we tend to keep our distance with them. For instance, a lady moves the bird nest to another corner so that the birds wouldn’t dirty the floor with all the twigs and stuff during nest building; organisms which one does not usually see would eventually become something new to that particular person, where some may run for their lives, or have a closer look. From another point of view, the living organisms other than us human beings would have see us as aliens, something different, something big or the opposite, or even dirty too, just like how we define them in words. We have people chasing after the ‘outsiders’, yelling, “You stupid furry animals, don’t you dare come to my house ever again!” forgetting the creatures are part of this land, as all living beings share and live in one, be it somewhere where the sun shines or the other way round; that we have fur which is more commonly known as hair, with different quality and quantity.
