Poem: Hunt

It was dark outside, with the houses in sight.
Checking from drain to drain, looking for him,
Who equipped with antenna, along with six legs,
Which helped him escape, from everything ahead.
With torch light in the hand, the man searched over and over again.
Till a few blocks away, there he sat with his friends.
Drinking water from the drain, they didn’t realize the man was there.
When the shadow was over their heads, then they ran away.
Using the plastic bag, the man swung his hand.
And finally, he was caught in the bag.
The man took him in the hand, brought him home in a container instead.
Leaving him on the table, to surprise the daughter upstairs.
As expected, she thanked the man for the hard work and happily went to bed.
When the sun rises once again, it would be his day, to say goodbye to the rest.
Accompanied by the other cockroaches, together they died and being displayed.
