Manual Labelling

After several incidents which depress a person, he would probably start complaining and moaning on how pathetic his life has been, that his life has not been his life as expected, that the obstacles given have overloaded. First thing first, who are we to determine that our lives are nothing but sadness? And why are we in such hurry to conclude so? If we are to say that life is unpredictable and we never know whether we are able to open our eyes once again after a good night rest, then why do we even bother to label our lives as pathetic? Doesn’t that give us the reasons to be more optimistic and enjoy the life to the fullest, instead of telling ourselves that our lives are meaningless, wasting the precious moments which can be used to spend with our dearest, friends and family instead? When we drive manual cars, we are the ones who take control of the gears, when to change and when not to, to take left turn or right, to stop or to speed; similarly, we are our lives and we are the boss of our lives, how our lives would be depend on how we are to be. We are in search of what we have in mind, be it an emotion or a thought. Hence, when we are telling ourselves that life has been terrible and depressing, that nothing good is meant to be for us, we are actually hypnotizing ourselves, convincing ourselves that it is a fact which is permanent rather than temporary, forgetting there will be a change in no time, that life has ups and downs, that one day we are to stand up once again against the obstacles planted ahead. Why label our lives as depressing when we have the choice and the time to prove that it isn’t?
