Breaking Point

From comic books and TV drama series, we’ve learned about the term ‘breaking point’, where it is capable of breaking rocks and solid objects with a single touch. Of course, it does not exactly applied in reality when it comes to breaking an item with a finger. However, things may be different if we are to replace it with one particular degree of tension instead. Non-living objects have their very own breaking points and so do we; the living beings. Nevertheless, the definition here varies from the one first mentioned. When we encounter problems or obstacles in life, no doubt we are able to overcome them, depending on individuals. Still, there are these little impacts which somehow being stored at some place in us and as time slips through our fingers, this particular ‘collection’ may be piling up, becoming a huge mountain whereby anytime, anything would be the last straw, to stroke our breaking points. Breaking down, we tear, we yell, we scream, releasing our anger, our grudge and ourselves; times where a pat on the shoulder, sincere words of consolatory, or simply a hug would put one back to the comfort zone, where there will be no pressure, no depression, no hatred but time for recovery and back to the battlefield again. When one is torn apart, broken down by certain incidents, pieces of the heart scatter everywhere, is fine, as it can be restored, but not to perfection. Why would we want to be perfect when we know there isn’t any? With the tiny pieces missing from our hearts, we know we’ve lived.
